Stop Mac from Going into Sleep Mode

As a default by default, all Mac computers automatically enter sleep mode following a specific time of inactivity. This feature of Mac is intended to conserve power , and also to block unauthorised access while you’re far from the Mac.

Typically, the time of inactivity following which the Mac immediately goes into sleep mode lasts 2 minutes on battery, and 10 minutes if the Mac is connected to an external power source.

Sleeping through the Power Saving function is disabled when you watch movies and videos with the Mac and not when you are reading or browsing through an informative article on a site.

It can be very irritating particularly when you are engaged in doing something and the screen on your Mac is turned off and then enters Sleep Mode.

3. On the Energy Saver Screen, click on the Power Adapter Tab , and then move the slider next to ” Turn Display off After” all the way to the right until you reach the Never Position (See the image below).

4. Next, click on the Battery tab, and then move the slider in the direction of ” Turn display off after” to the Never position (See the image below)

NOTE: Instead of choosing “Never” and permitting your Mac to shut down it is preferential to allow your Mac remain alert for longer period of time by adjusting the slider from 15 to 30 minutes.
